What happened?

The private Zurich bank Maerki Baumann has decided to accept crypto assets from payments received for services rendered — as well as those earned from crypto mining — in a response to new market demands and the rise of cryptocurrencies' popularity.

Opera to Launch Built-In Cryptocurrency Wallet for Desktop Browser

What is this all about?

Opera is launching its desktop web browser with built-in crypto wallet functionality, building on the successful experience Opera on Android.

How does it work?
The new desktop version will work by enabling users to connect their desktop browser to their existing crypto wallet-enabled mobile app by scanning a QR code. Read more.

'Game Over': Wall Street Analyst Says Bitcoin Must Not Breech Year-To-Date Support 

What happened?
Renaissance Macro Research's head of technical research Jeff deGraaf concluded  an a new analysis it may be "game over" for Bitcoin (BTC).
What is his view based on?
Jeff deGraaf claimed that Bitcoin's "parabolic moves are notoriously dangerous for short-sellers," adding that a top one normally develops with the appearance of a "descending triangle over a few months, with reduced volatility and little [fanfare]." Read more here.

 

Crypto Exchange Bittrex Expands

What is this all about?

Cryptocurrency exchange and wallet service Bittrex is looking to expand its fiat markets to Ethereum Classic (ETC) and Ripple (XRP).
What is this for?
The company says that it will continue gradually adding tokens to its USD markets, using a "phased approach" for USD trading. Details here.

Coinbase Returns to Wyoming

What happened?
U.S. crypto exchange and wallet provider Coinbase has been given the green light from regulators to resume its services in the state of Wyoming.
What it got?
Coinbase credits the state legislature, Governor Matt Mead and members of the Blockchain Task Force with enabling a new bill to be signed into state law that has now effectively removed these restrictions. Read more here.
